COLLABORATION WITH De Marchi verona, 2024

This project is a direct continuation of A Tile and Its Thousand Possibilities, first presented at Alcova during Milan Design Week 2024. It marks the evolution of an early conceptual exploration into a fully developed system, and represents the first significant collaboration following the professional transition from engineering into art and design. Building on the initial research, the project translates speculative thinking into a tangible, production-ready language.

Conceived as a modular tile system, the project challenges the conventional logic of “one tile, one design.” Using a single hexagonal module, it generates complex and fluid patterns through rotation and recombination. Inspired by musical improvisation, mathematical logic and visual systems such as Tantrix and the work of M.C. Escher, the collection balances precision and freedom, allowing structure to coexist with variation.

Central to the project is an interactive approach developed for presentation and research contexts. The tiles are not only meant to be observed, but actively engaged with—inviting viewers to assemble, test and compose their own configurations.

Beyond exhibitions and presentations, the project has already been implemented as part of completed interior architecture projects. Notable contexts include Milan Design Week 2025 at the Bugatti Home showroom, and The Wheels Florence , a contemporary hospitality project located in Palazzo dei Conti Bargagli Petrucci, where the tiles function as permanent architectural surfaces.
